Tracing the Threads of History and Fantasy

Lounging in Style

Lounging in Style

For Midnight Order, Grasshopper Street takes you back to the early 20th century with a daring lounging set in silk tulle and satin and a matching turban that is sold separately. The texture huds include both pre-set textures and further tinting abilities. The Zelda pumps are an earlier release, but matched well in style and colour to the lounging set.

For lounging, I am using the Ladies Chaise from the Swan Lake series by DICTATORSHOP, a very opulent line of furnishings with a nice selection of animations. This version of the chaise has single animations, PG couple animations and Adult couple (MF) animations. The matching dressing screen can be glimpsed in the mirror, which is the Ornate Mirror from Dutchie.

The beautiful pale skin is Nar Mattaru’s Hela, worn on Kaya.

Timeless Reflections

Timeless Reflections

I am mixing my time periods wildly here with several new releases from the November round of We Love Role-Play, but I love the end result. In the pre-furnished Shadow Mansion from Death Row Designs, I setup the Tudor Wall Table Set from Simply Shelby. It has a really fantastic reflection cube and great dusty textures for the mirrors, making for lovely reflections with a really old-timey look to them.

The dress is by Senzafine, very gothic in its style and beautifully textured. The Zelda pumps by Grasshopper Street are a little late in style, but suited the look nicely even so. And the final touch from WLRP is the very cool Mechanism Hand by lassitude & ennui, a delicate Steampunk-styled replacement hand that comes in four different textures and can be used on both hands at the same time or just on one. Very ladylike and elegant.

Renaissance Boudoir

Renaissance Boudoir

The SL Renaissance Festival is here! Held for the 5th year in a row and running from September 27th to October 6th, the festival is a fundraising event which raises funds for the American Cancer Society through Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. During the time of the festival you can of course shop for fantastic new items to help raise money but there will also be many kinds of entertainments and other ways to participate and donate money. There are six dedicated sims with auctions, raffles, roleplay, performances, tournaments and so on. You really don’t want to miss it so why not visit right away?

For my first post, I am showing off a mix of new things, several using PBR. The cap & braid from Grasshopper St. is a fantastic medieval hair style, beautifully ornate and a great match for the gown from Mere 89.  Finishing the look is the lavish jewellery set by Heartsdale Jewellery. The decor mixes releases by Lore, Eclectica and Folklore & Fable.

The Lady at the Fountain

The Lady at the Fountain

We Love Role-Play remains open for two more days, until the 28 of September, so don’t miss the chance to check out all the great deals for this round. You will find new releases at 15% to 30% discounts, such as the lovely Cerridwen gown from Ruxy and the Butterfly Hennin by Grasshopper St. The gown is definitely more of a fantasy piece whereas the headgear is appropriately medieval. The ensemble gave me a reason to revisit my little Renaissance-inspired town, built with Del-ka Aedilis’s Medici Series of buildings. I also added a fountain from Hextraordinary to fill out the central square some.
