Tracing the Threads of History and Fantasy

White Wedding

White Wedding

Grasshopper Street has a beautiful set of bridal veils and a tiara, plus a lovely mirror as a gift, at the current round of the Engine Room. The layered veil can be worn in different ways as it is available both as a whole linkset and as individual veils and the HUD allows for a choice of patterns for each layer as well as tinting options.

I didn’t have a dress that I felt suited the style of the veils, so I decided on a bride in lingerie (a beautiful set by alaskametro) for a very lacy and ethereal look that I felt would contrast in a really interesting way with the surroundings provided by the almost-empty Nautilus building by Fanatik, with just a few decor elements from DICTATORSHOP’s Heritage series. It also raises the question of what has happened here, especially when I added the puddles and water leaks on the floor, which is a new PBR set from Fanatik.  Unfortunately, there seems to be a bug in Firestorm so that the lovely reflections I can see inworld are not preserved in the saved image. But trust me, it looks fantastic.

The beautiful upholstered and tufted sofa from DICTATORSHOP has a very traditional look without becoming too heavy or oldfashioned. It offers 7 different metal options, 23 leathers and 9 fabrics, for easy matching with your existing furnishings. Its available as PG or Adult Vanilla, with over 400 animations.

A House of Healing

A House of Healing

One of the buildings in the new Rome Series from Del-ka Aedilis is the Hospital Celsus, a combined residence and hospital for a medicus or healer.  The build features a beautiful garden, for relaxation as well as for growing medicinal plants, flanked by barracks with rooms for patients. At the end is a two-story building serving as a residence for the medicus. The build features PBR textures and the light from the fires illuminates it beautifully.

For a suitable outfit, I decided to make use of the newest release from Rakshasa for We Love Role-Play. The Fineas Camisk is…well, part of a Greek or Roman outfit, with a draped cloth that covers half the body and leaves the rest bare. In contrast to the rich fabric, it is tied with a rope that is matched by the ropes around the wrists. There are also matching laced sandals and those as well as the outfit are available for both male and female avatars. We’ll just say that the medicus of this hospital may believe in a bit of sexual healing as well. ;)

My hair is a brand new release from Raven Bell for the Engine Room. With the floral ornaments removed, I thought it could pass for a Romanesque style. Either way, it is a very pretty updo.

Dive Into Dutchie’s Pool

Dive Into Dutchie’s Pool

Dutchie’s Swimming Pool is the latest creation from Froukje Hoorenbeek. Suitable as a luxurious addition to your Second Life home or as part of a spa, this pool offers beautiful PBR-textures and top notch animations, including custom swimming and diving animations. Naturally, I had to dive in and explore the options, and you can see some of the results in the video.

As I note in the video, there is a PG and an Adult version, with the Adult supporting Aeros and Physics Cock for automatic tilting as well as being Lovense Sex Toy compatible. I also mentioned the additional tiles available to landscape around the pool, but I forgot to note that there are also two landscape surrounds with cut-outs for the pool, so that you can more easily use it on land where you can’t landscape. My setup is in the sky and I used one of the surrounds to create a little hill around the pool.

The Phoenix Fae

The Phoenix Fae

A peek into the deep woods, where strange things grow and all manner of curious creatures make their home. Lithe and beautiful, appearing as if garbed in living flame, the phoenix fae is elusive and mischievous. You may be tempted to follow her deeper into the woods, but proceed with caution. Not all is as it seems, and most certainly do not eat the glowing mushrooms.

The Phoenix Corset is a cool design by Starlight Designs, featuring animated flames that seem to envelop your body. Looks particularly fabulous in the dark! And that is of course also true for the Faelight Fungi by Birth, a set which includes different mushroom clusters, some strange glowing flowers and one huge mushroom with little frogs on. It really does look like bioluminiscence. You’ll find the corset and the mushrooms at the current round of We Love Role-Play.

Also from We Love Role-Play is the latest ear release from Illusions, the Elfin Ears, long and slender and very fae. My skin is one of the new tones for alaskametro’s Esme skin, released at the Skin Fair, and I am using it with the 2025 body update.
